Thank you for your interest in Kingman, The Heart of Route 66. Your health and safety are important to us. In our effort to help slow the spread of COVID-19, we are supporting the measures issued by Arizona Governor Doug Ducey. We request all travelers take protective measures – including frequently washing hands, covering coughs and sneezes, and staying home if sick – and make informed decisions regarding upcoming travel.

Things to do

Whether traveling through, or a local looking to break that cabin fever, here are some activities to consider that you can safely participate in while social distancing:

  • Historic Downtown Kingman self-guided walking tour: Downtown Kingman has more than 40 sights and buildings on the National Registry of Historic Places. You can pick up a walking tour map in racks just outside the entry of the Kingman “Powerhouse” Visitor Center.
  • Downtown Kingman ArtWork and Murals: Take a stroll through downtown Kingman and admire the many unique pieces of artwork and murals. These are great photo opportunities!
  • Hike in the Cerbat Foothills Recreation Area: With more than 30 miles of scenic desert trails, these non-motorized multi-purpose trails are a relaxing escape into the Arizona outdoors.
  • Hike the Hualapai Mountain Trails: Offering 10 miles of trails for hikers, mountain bikers and equestrians to explore, these trails provide views of the desert below and the mountain rangers in the distance. 
  • Cruise down Oatman Hwy (Historic Route 66) for Arizona wild-flowers in bloom: with all of the spring rains, an impressive show of flowers is starting to emerge along this stretch of road.
  • Go Geocaching: visit www.geocaching.com for information about this popular modern day treasure hunting activity (free and fee based subscription options available).
  • Go for a round of golf at our local Cerbat Cliffs Golf Course.
  • Play Disc Golf at one of four local disc golf locations: Firefighters Memorial Park, Cactus Flats Disc Golf Course, and Deer Canyon Disc Golf Course, Cerbat Cliffs Disc Golf Course
  • Desert Diamond Distillery is offering tastings, but no tours at this time. Groups if less than 10 only please.
