It’s Spring Break, or the weather is getting nice again and you’re wondering what do with your kids. Kingman may be a small town, but there’s still a lot of cool things they can do. Here’s our list of the top 15 things you can do in Kingman with kids in tow.

1. Climb up aboard Steam Locomotive #3759 at Locomotive Park (310 W. Beale St. ). Number 3759 was on the passenger run between Los Angeles and Kansas City for nearly 30 years before being presented to the City of Kingman as a historical monument in 1957. A colorful caboose was added in 1987. Today, visitors can climb up into the cab of the old steam engine while modern trains roll by on nearby tracks.
2. Let your kids climb around the rock-climbing walls at Metcalfe Park (315 W Beale St). There are two walls offering varying levels of difficulty, they are freely available in the children’s play area.
3. White Cliffs Wagon Trail is part of an old wagon route used in the late 1800s to bring gold ore to the railroad. The wagon tracks have been cut deep into the stone so kids can get a truly interesting perspective of Kingman’s wild western history. The mountainside along the tracks provides an exciting tufa stone wall with holes and cracks that children enjoy climbing around on. The trail, located near Downtown Kingman, can be accessed by taking Grandview Ave north to Lead Street, turning right and following Lead Street directly to the trail head. 4. Located in Kingman’s historic Railroad Depot, the Kingman Railroad Museum houses railroad memorabilia, artifacts, and three operating model train displays. Large windows allow safe viewing of the real trains thundering outside just feet away. The museum is located at 402 E. Andy Devine Ave (aka Route 66).
5. Visit the Kingman Center for the Arts Art Gallery or let your kids participate in one of the art or theater classes for kids. The Kingman Center for the Arts, located downtown at 402 E Beale St, has brought life to the art community through live theater productions, community art shows, and art and theater classes. Their gallery has regular hours Monday through Saturday and is changed out with new exhibits on a rotating schedule throughout the year.
6. The Kingman KOA Journey has a mini-golf course on-site at 3820 North Roosevelt. The small course is available for the general public to rent clubs and play during normal operating hours.
7. Take them for a scavenger hunt at the Mohave Museum of History & Arts at 400 W Beale Street. While at the Museum, venture outside to the mining exhibit and let them climb up and walk through the vintage wooden caboose where they can see the sleeping and traveling quarters of former railroaders.
8. If it’s a hot summer day, and the hotel pool is busy or a little too basic, take the kids to the Cecil Davis Park Splash Pad at 601 Van Buren St.
9. The Olympic-sized swimming pool with a 14-foot water slide at Centennial Park, 3333 Harrison Ave or Downtown Grandview swimming pool with an 8-foot slide and toddler pool. Open Monday to Saturday from Memorial Day weekend through mid-summer.
10. Order up a root beer float (or strawberry shake) at Mr. D’z Route 66 Diner (105 E Andy Devine Ave, aka Route 66). Mr. D’z is a popular 50’s style diner with pink and teal everything and good time oldies playing all day every-day. When the straw starts slurping air, pop over to the Dream Machines Car Museum next door for a cool trip through a working garage where American classics are repaired and customized.
11. Catch a flick in one of Brenden Theaters four stadium style theaters at 4055 Stockton Hill Road.
12. Visit Quinn’s Cages at 2364 Northern Ave for their batting cages, golf simulator, and arcade games.
13. Bowling at Cerbat Lanes Bowling Alley. video game arcade and 24 bowling lane center. Cosmic bowling is every Friday and Saturday from 6pm to close.
14. Play a round at Fireman’s Park Disc Golf, a free 9-basket course, you can pick up a set of disc golf set at Big 5 Sporting Goods nearby. This is a great course for a free game, it can get busy. For a more refined experience, Cerbat Foothills Disc Golf Course, is a full 18 basket course. Call ahead of time to register a game, open 11am to dark. The only fee is for a golf cart, but players need to bring their own discs.
